What people are saying about MOTHERTONGUES

“A great rattlebag of a read, full of surprises, tales and ideas. A book that argues with itself. A book of close ups and wide views. Stimulating, funny and heartbreaking.”

— Paul Kelly, Australian singer, songwriter, legend.

“The songs evoked memories and experiences of my own mother and many mothers in my life as they navigated through the terrain of responsibility of raising children...fraught with all the emotional highs and lows that come with it...the music is beautiful and the singing so pure in essence.”

— Maria Mercedes, Australian actor, singer, performer.
